Our Board Chair has requested that we move our donation processing away from Zeffy due to several donors who did not understand the "Tip" field and were charged hundreds of extra dollars because they did not change it from the defautl value, which is set at 17%! I love Zeffy. I use it for other nonprofits and have referred several organizations here, but the Tip field is an issue and it feels like it is trying to trick people into giving that tip instead of choosing to. I request the tip field be changed so that the donor has to opt in to leave a tip rather than opt out. In the tip dropdown there is no option for $0 or "No tip", so it is not automatically intuitive for everyone, especially older donors, that you can select "Other" and enter $0 manually. These extra steps have led to confusion and accidental tips, which has led to anger toward our donation process. Our Board has said they would rather pay the processing fees to give the donors a less frustrating experience.
