I am in full support of this request. As other has stated these emails are leading to a great deal of frustration and confusion because theybare being sent based on the previous payment date and not necessarily based on the true membership expiration (i.e. memberships based on a fiscal year with a true required membership dues due date).
I also feel it is inappropriate for the email to be auto generated and we as the organizations are not able to see the wording or even travk that the notifications have been sent. It is important for us to be able to create a personalized experience for our members, especially when it involves communications.

Zeffy sends an automatic reminder 30 days before membership expiry, but:
- The email cannot be edited
- Admins cannot see when / whether the reminder has been sent
This is especially problematic for members imported manually (e.g. during a migration from another platform). In the imported / manual entries:
- Memberships cannot be set up for auto-renewal
- The reminder email does not include a clear call to action button / link to renew or purchase a new membership
As a result:
- Members are confused about what to do when they receive the 30 days before expiry reminder email
- Admins must manually follow up with another email explaining they will have to purchase a new membership and renewal is not possible (duplicating emails)
- There is a higher risk of missed renewals and lost donations due to expired memberships.
Desire outcome:
Allow admins to...
- edit the 30-day expiration reminder email and apply conditional messaging for auto-renew vs manual renewal, including for imported members
- See reminder status at the contact or membership level and whether the reminder was sent, and when it was sent

I would like to be able to turn off the email reminding my members that their membership is expiring. The email reminds them to renew the membership, whereas we may not necessarily have planned a membership for the following year.

Yes, please. While we appreciate that it can be done this way - we would prefer to either be able to customize the email so that it comes from us or disable it and we send out own. It's much more personal when it comes from our business than zeffy. And now more than ever, businesses need to have a personal touch with their members/sponsors.
Thank you.

I agree. As Sheila mentioned, even those members who have renewed their membership for the following year using the same form and email receive this notice. They are very confused and it will result in overpayments and confusion. This particular issue seems fixable with a filter for those members who have renewed for the following year.

Thanks for the feedback! Do you have more details about why you don't want the email sent? Thank you so much!

Rowan from Zeffy: Good morning! Our subscription is annual according to our fiscal year (September 1 to August 31). The majority of members renew just before the AGM in November. The email is sent on July 1 during the holidays when the fiscal year is not over, causing confusion as to what fiscal year the membership is being paid for. So I want to deactivate the message and suggest that people renew the membership by inviting them to the AGM. Moreover, this is already the subject of another request, but it would be important to be able to personalize the message.

Sometimes a member renews prior to the expiration but still gets the email reminder. This is confusing so would like to be able to turn it off manually if we see a member has done this.
