Pay what you can ticket option so buyers can enter the amount they'd like, while reserving their ticket./Be able to create a ticket type that does not have a fixed price, and that allows the buyer to manually enter the price they'd like to pay.

We need a field for Prorated Memberships. PWYC does not work for this purpose. Thanks for offering a field where the renewing member can enter a prorated amount from their renewal invoice to bring their Membership to a 12-month Calendar Year. Currently, we have asked renewing members in this situation to add $1 for the prorated membership renewal and the balance in the additional donation. The word “donation” is also an issue for a 501(c)(6) nonprofit business association because it suggests that the payment is tax deductible. We have been instructed to use the word “contribution” instead. If we could edit the heading of the Additional Donation, that may solve the problem. We are based in the US. Thank you!

True Pay What You Can/Will Tickets (Buyer sets ticket price)

Please add a true "pay-what-you-will" ticket option where the buyer can enter the amount they want to pay for each ticket. Zeffy has two work arounds on a help page, but they are not as straight forward or as customizable as what other platforms (like TicketLeap) can do.
For instance, my organization sells three tiers of tickets: Pay it forward, At Cost, and Free/New. Each tier has a minium purchase price, but within each tier the buyer can type in whatever number they want, so long as it meets the minimum price.
The work arounds provided by Zeffy either require you to create many different ticket prices (that are fixed) or offer free tickets where buyers can type in a donation amount, but that doesn't include a "minimum" donation amount. Also, when you activate the "Add Additional Donation" button, it only shows up on the main ticket selection page, not the checkout page, which would also be helpful.
Please just copy what TicketLeap has!
Thank you!

Agree with the need for customizability not only in tiered pricing along with attendee choice being made easy, but also of the wording itself. Currently the only option says "Pay what you can" which is not universally ideal and in some communities can be considered condescending.

Yes, please. Our nonprofit arts organization wants to have a pass the hat approach for some of our performances and an electronic payment option would be super nice.

Dear Zeffy users,
Thank you so much for sharing your specific needs and use cases with us around this PWYC feature. That feedback helped us understand why this mattered so much to your community and designed a great solution for it.
Pay what you can tickets are now live on Zeffy. You can start using them on your event forms today.
This pricing model lets your supporters choose how much they want to pay while you can still set suggested amounts or minimums. It's all about giving your community flexibility while you keep fundraising simple.
Learn how to set it up with this link: https://support.zeffy.com/can-i-create-pay-what-you-can-tickets
We hope this helps make your event, membership, online shops, etc. more accessible and brings more people into your community.
If it's not working exactly how you need it to, just hit reply—we'd love to hear from you.
Happy Fundraising,
Michel, in behalf of the Zeffy team

Michel (Product @Zeffy) When I add this option, with a minimum amount and hit save, the pay as you can option doesn’t stay put and it defaults to a “free” ticket and doesn’t show an empty price box.
Michel (Product @Zeffy)
Melissa thanks for your answer! I will reach out to you by email to solve this issue.

One more vote for this one - I think a lot of nonprofits are serving populations that have really limited resources and we need a way to make membership accessible to everyone. It's membership renewal season - we may go with paypal again this year, but sure would be nice to have this option sooner rather than later!

We would request that this option be added URGENTLY! It cannot be that difficult as you already have a Donation option. Perhaps that could be changed to a "Custom Contribution" option? Even better if we could change the Text where the word Additional Donation is. We are currently using Greater Giving for our new members to pay Membership Dues to join and for our current members to pay the Membership Dues to Renew. Renewals are pro-rated and the renewing member needs to enter the pro-rated amount on their invoice. We would like to transition these payments to Zeffy because it is strange for our members to have two payment portals, especially one with a convenience fee which we charge to partially offset the fee that Greater Giving is charging our organization. We hope that this option will be given priority as our renewals start in December for the 2026 Calendar Year. Here is the link to our current form which may be helpful to you: https://faccphl.ejoinme.org/MyPages/FACCMembershipPage/tabid/12925/Default.aspx

Custom Form Blank Payment

I would like a form that doesn't require a specific amount to be designated. We offer a consulting service to churches in which each church pays a different amount based on need. Right now I am using a donation form with the appropriate tax options selected to accept payments. However, the language on the form is then confusing for the client.
The current custom Form requires a specific payment amount. We need a form that can accept any amount.

Allow people an "Other" option on tickets to pay a different price.
