Thanks everyone for your valuable feedback! We've implemented a change so that all payment methods are now visible at the payment step. Donors will no longer need to click on “Other payment methods” to view all available payment options.

Rowan from Zeffy Your change is very good to make the different payment methods more visible. However, the buttons for paying or sharing fees are very aggressive and confusing... you have removed the “Next time” option, so I think that several donors will feel obliged to click on one or the other of the buttons and thus donate against their will. I understand that contributions are essential for you, but it is disrespectful to require them to do so much.

One of our major donors mentioned finding being asked to use PAD long and confusing. I don't think they clicked on "other payment method" as I think they are a little less tech-savvy. They are very involved in our organization and let use know about this and that they would be making their gift by cheque. But I'm worried it might have discouraged other donors to use this method of payment.
I second the idea that all payment options should be made visible as a default, and make more clear for each one what are the advantages. Instead of having some notes appear as a comment on the side, and the comment about cheque appear under the payment box.

Yes it has made it much less obvious for a donor to be able to give via their credit card... It complicates the process too much. For some donors, especially older ones, the PAD is still not well known enough, so they don't give...
Especially since you can't almost see the link for “Other Payment Methods”, the UI/UX is really not optimal! You should do a RECOMMENDED OPTION box for the PAD by explaining that it is safe and why it is preferred, but another box lower with the other payment options. It may be paler, but let's see all the options...
I understand that you want people to be aware that it costs fees and that you want to offer the least expensive option for you, but not at the risk of losing donors I think...

Marie-Christine: all possible choices should be displayed upon arrival. No need to click to see them or to open a “sandwich” menu... we've lost so many donors since then. For a benefit event, I had 2.5x more emails and calls (compared to the 2 previous editions) telling me that people were not able to buy!! And that's the ones who reported not being able to do it!! Hopefully it will be resolved quickly.

Stéphanie: Same thing on my end. Not everyone is comfortable with the pre-authorized debit procedure and that's enough for several donors to stop themselves from donating to us. The platform is not doing us a favor in this sense. As a Foundation, we rely on donations to function!... I too had to deal with a lot more calls and emails and that shouldn't happen. We use the platform to save time, not to waste time. I talked to the Zeffy team about it and they sent me back to this page; at least I see I'm not the only one who pointed out that it was a problem. As you say, if the Zeffy team wants people to pay by pre-authorized debit, let them do a “Recommended Option” box explaining why they recommend this option... but leave the other possible and obvious options anyway! Hoping that they will hear us...

Zeffy has changed again and made it even more difficult for donors to navigate and figure out how to make a credit card donation for $500 or more. You now how to click on "Other Payment Methods", then click on the "Credit Card". Please don't make it so cryptic and hard for our donors to donate. We now have to walk through our donation page click by click with a bunch of donors so they can figure it out.
